Hansel and Gretel Bloodstone

I've been working on this for a while, and finally got a chance to submit it. Yay! Ich bin so glücklich! Tee hee :3 So there are a couple of reasons why I chose Hansel and Gretel to represent Marcus and Marah. One Hansel & Gretel are German and my father is a first generation German, so I grew up in a very very German oriented household (with a ton of yummy food!). The second reason goes to their personalities... Marcus tends to find his way into trouble easily (what with his quick mouth and inability to think before acting) and Marah's usually the one who has to bail him out.

In the original tale of Hansel and Gretel, after overhearing their parent's plot to abandon them in the woods to fend for themselces, Hansel comes up with the clever scheme of using pebbles to find their way back home--Marcus, like Hansel, is the quick thinker of the two. However, when the parents attempt to abandon them once more, Hansel has no more pebbles to lay a trail back home and instead uses breadcumbs (we all know how that ends). The siblings find there way to a sugar cottage and Hansel persuades his sister into joining him to eat the sugary goodness. There they are captured by a witch, Hansel's put in a cage, & Gretel is the one who ultimately saves him. I thought it was fitting

The last reason was because the movie Hansel and Gretel: Witch hunters was friggin' awesome! And I kinda wanted to draw them in sorta traditional German dress with a modern twist to it. Thus, Marcus is wearing a modernized version of lederhosen.
